![]() There is still much room for improvement, but dev is very active and updates / fixes are very frequent. Being a huge fan of the said, i needed to try this one and TBH, very suprised, how a single person developer, managed to make such a DECENT!! product. Buy it now, support the development! A neat an promissing port of Factorio. I enjoyed my first try, you can see a video review of it over here: Will definitely be following the development, the game has great potential! It’s also made by a solo developer, which is impressive. Boppio Steam ReviewsĪ refreshing new take on factory automation, with innovative tube mechanic that replaces the need of micro managing conveyer belts. Combat is simply easy (everything dies in 3-4 hits and kiting is not difficult). So add it to your wishlist for now and keep an eye out for this later. Granted it is in alpha phase now and shows much promise. It’s same set up as Factorio or Satisfactory but with much less content. I look forward to the future of this already impressive showcase and will continue to update. Will continue to play!-Play-Test Update- I cannot get enough of the soundtrack it propelled me to buy this game after play-testing it, paired with this new world designed by a developer who truly loves his game. The soundtrack, graphics, and game-play are a beautiful symphony of a new classic. I should note that I haven’t tried multiplayer yet, but singleplayer runs perfectly fine on my 2015 Macbook Pro and the dev is happy to work on supporting Mac players which is great coming from an indie dev. It is similar to doing something like playing Minecraft on Peaceful mode - you are not likely to get hurt by NPCs but you do have to consider logistics of your factory and the possibility of running out of resources due to inefficiency. While the game IMO will benefit from more development time and features (and perhaps different game modes withe more adversity), I enjoy it enough. I got hooked on it during the playtest right before release and played that version for probably 4 hours and then bought this on release. I did get blocked on the research, I think maybe on the start of tier 2? factory-building game If you spend a little time looking into the keybinds and controller settings you will find everything you need to get started. Its EA so you will have to dig for how to do things to get started. When I went into combat mode I always faced north so had to attack from the south of creatures to hit them. Combat suffered from similar controller clunkiness. I used a game controller for most of the movement and building placement, but it was easier to switch to the mouse/keyboard for selecting structures and connecting them with pipes, and for clicking on inventory/structure icons. Error’s/Bug’s Obviously there is a few since it’s on E/A but if you talk with the dev. Activity Yes very active on Steam forum and Discord (feel free to join the very friendly community and very helpful dev. Ultra Wide Support – Yes, games like this really need it and Unity is a great engine to support U/W. Gameplay You can’t talk about games like this without mentioning Factorio and it should be an honor to be compared to it, the big difference in this 1 is instead of having 1 way conveyors you have tubes where transporting resources gets easier since they can go either way from any construction, you don’t have to link any of them directly since the resources will always go where they are needed. Watching John, the solo developer of the game on Twitch, it is clearly evident that he cares a lot about his community and is passionate about game development in general. I also believe the developer has already planned out and is working towards the next major content patch which is an even bigger bonus. As expected for an early access game, there is not a lot of end game content yet, but given the content that already exists it is a steal of a deal and well worth the purchase. The pipe/tube system with its automatic routing feature makes it easy for even beginners of the genre to hop in and start building. Boppio is a factory building game that takes inspiration from other games in this genre but does have its own unique flair.
